I like to think.

I like to think the elderly
really can walk just as fast as me
and that all the walkers, canes
and comfortable shoes
are merely props
in an elaborate hoax to cover up
the genius discovery they’ve made;
that they don’t always have to be
in such a rush all the time.
Because things will work
themselves out
just fine.
