Mum’s smile.

Day breaks,
and the sun rises
Gently, steadily
over her teeth, her gums
Curling it’s way to noon
Through the corners of her mouth

Mine?
Firecrackers.
Explosives.
out of every pearly white
Cheeks blasting skyward
To where crows rest their feet,
in the corners of happy eyes.
